How to Make Healthy Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is both soothing and healthful.
The strength you enjoy will determine how much
ginger to use and how long to steep it for.
*HEALTH BENEFITS OF GINGER below.
I will give you my 3 main recipes here. You
decide how much ginger you can tolerate.
For me, I’d prefer
1/8 to 1/4 tsp ground ginger powder per
8 oz. cup of hot water with
1 tsp. of honey, pure maple
syrup, or molasses.
Pour through a coffee filter or cheesecloth.
But below is the recipe that works to relieve
and often prevent headaches for my husband.
I find it way too strong for my taste. I prefer to
make the 3rd recipe ginger cookies to get the
health benefits of ginger into my everyday diet.
GINGER TEA
To Fill 1 Liter bottles
(from cherry juice)
2 empty one-quart (or liter) bottles
2 tsp ginger powder
2 tbs. honey or maple syrup
2 liters purified water
I put two tsp. ginger powder in about
three cups of freshly boiled water in
a quart size Pyrex measuring cup.
Stir in sweetener until dissolved.
Let it steep for about 15 minutes. Pour it
evenly into two bottles through a coffee-cone
filter or a permanent filter placed in a
funnel inserted in the neck of the bottle.
Then fill both bottles to the top with purified
water. Shake well before pouring into a cup.
Drink hot or iced.(Lemon or none).
Store in refrigerator up to 9 days. Heat in
the microwave. OR
Make Ginger ice cubes and save them in
freezer-safe bags or containers. You can
defrost them for iced tea.
